Super Y-League soccer is here, and it's creating exceptional opportunities for the state's most talented soccer youth. 

What is Super Y?
Well according to the league's manager, Matt Weibe, "The Super Y-League provides a home for the elite-level player.  "Teams are made up of the top 1% of soccer youth, which works out to around 15,000 kids nationwide.  "The Super Y-League is specifically designed to provide for the needs of these players week in and week out," Weibe stated.  It provides "hard-core competition in a professionalized environment on a regional level within a national league format.  "Launched in 1999, Super Y is the only national youth league in the United States. Weibe describes it as "a breeding ground for our National Teams, as well as our professional and college soccer programs.  " It is managed by the United Soccer Leagues (USL), the same group that oversees the Premier Development League (PDL).  The league is noted for its unique approach to recruiting and its ability to raise the bar for the best players in the country.  It has several non-traditional components including worldwide recruiting, a 26-person pool from which game-day players can be chosen, strict venue regulations and vertical integration (players are allowed to play-up).
