Girls' all★star rosters set for Saturday

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – Monday, June 18, 2018 – It’s the girls’ turn.

A week after the boys’ edition of the 2018 Iowa High School All-Star Game, the girls will get their shot this coming Saturday.

The games, hosted by the Des Moines Menace at Valley Stadium, are presented by Soccer Master and organized by the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association.

Below are the rosters for this coming Saturday. This is the Menace’s sixth straight year hosting the all-star games, showcasing graduated seniors who are nominated by high school coaches.

Saturday, June 23

5 p.m.: 2018 Iowa East-West All-Star Cup (Girls)
7:30 p.m.: Premier Development League match, Kaw Valley FC at Des Moines Menace
Venue: Valley Stadium (artificial turf) in West Des Moines, Iowa
Admission: $8 for ages 6-17; $10 for ages 18 and older; one ticket is good for both games

Congratulations to the 2018 state champions:

Girls Class 1A: Davenport Assumption defeated Sioux City Bishop Heelan – 8-0

Girls Class 2A: Lewis Central defeated Waverly-Shell Rock – 1-0

Girls Class 3A: Ankeny Centenial defeated Ankeny – 3-2


The girls’ championships were June 9 at Cownie Soccer Park in Des Moines.



ABOUT THE MENACE: The Des Moines Menace provides the highest level of soccer in Iowa. Celebrating its 25th season, the Menace men’s team competes in the Premier Development League (PDL). In its seventh season, the Menace women’s team is part of the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL). With loyal support, the Menace men’s and women’s teams play their home games at the Valley Stadium in West Des Moines to provide family-fun entertainment. The Menace organization provides the growth of the game of soccer in Iowa with their youth soccer programs, including Junior Menace (ages 3-9), Menace Youth Academy (ages six and older), and tournaments, camps and clinics.
