Girls' all★star rosters announced


WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – Tuesday, June 20, 2017 – A week after the boys’ edition of the Iowa High School All-Star Game, the girls will get their shot this Saturday at Valley Stadium.

The Des Moines Menace hosts the all-star action, presented by Soccer Master and organized by the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association.

Below are the rosters for the girls’ teams. To be eligible for this annual event, players must be recently graduated seniors who are nominated by high school coaches.

Last Saturday’s game went to a shootout, with the West boys edging the East.

Saturday, June 24
4:30 p.m.: 2017 Iowa East-West All-Star Cup (Girls)
7:30 p.m.: Premier Development League match, Chicago FC United at Des Moines Menace
Venue: Valley Stadium (artificial turf) in West Des Moines, Iowa
Admission: $10 for ages 6 and older; one ticket is good for both games

Congratulations to the 2017 Iowa High School champions:

Girls Class 1A: Davenport Assumption defeated Center Point-Urbana – 3-0
Girls Class 2A: Lewis Central defeated Union – 2-1
Girls Class 3A: Ames defeated West Des Moines Valley – 1-0

The girls’ championships were June 10 at Cownie Soccer Park in Des Moines.


ABOUT THE MENACE: The Des Moines Menace provides the highest level of soccer in Iowa. In its 24th season, the Menace men’s team competes in the Premier Development League (PDL). In its sixth season, the Menace women’s team is part of the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL). With loyal support, the Menace men’s and women’s teams play their home games at the Valley Stadium in West Des Moines to provide family-fun entertainment. The Menace organization provides the growth of the game of soccer in Iowa with their youth soccer programs, including Junior Menace (ages 3-9), Menace Youth Academy (ages six and older), and tournaments, camps and clinics.
