WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – Thursday, July 14, 2016 – A Saturday-Sunday home doubleheader concludes the Women’s Premier Soccer League season for the Des Moines Menace.

The Menace (5-1-0) will play on two home fields this weekend. Valley Stadium is the site of Saturday’s match against the defending WPSL champ Chicago Red Stars Reserves (6-0-0). Grimes Sports Complex is the site of Sunday’s free-admission match against the Minnesota TwinStars (2-4-0).

With an unbelievable 30-goal differential (and no goals allowed), Chicago is the only team that has defeated the Menace this season (4-0 on July 2). Coming into the last weekend of the season, Des Moines has its best record since its inaugural season in 2012, when the Women’s League Soccer champions went 7-1-0.

Des Moines is in second place (15 points) of the Heartland Region, just behind Chicago (18 points). The team knows that two wins this weekend would get them a tie for first place – then it all comes down to goal-differential between the Menace and the Red Stars.
