Menace hosts all-star games

 
 
WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – Thursday, June 26, 2014 – Iowa’s 2014 high school all-star games are part of an action-packed soccer weekend hosted by the Des Moines Menace at Valley Stadium.
 
Presented by Soccer Connections and hosted by the Des Moines Menace, the games are organized by the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association.
 
The girls’ edition of the 2014 Iowa East-West All-Star Cup opens a tripleheader on Saturday; the boys’ match starts a doubleheader on Sunday. The matches feature graduating seniors from across the state. The team rosters are below.
 
 
Saturday, June 28 
2 p.m.: 2014 Iowa East-West All-Star Cup (Girls)
4:30 p.m.: Women’s Premier Soccer League match, Kansas City Courage at Des Moines Menace
7:30 p.m.: Premier Development League match, Thunder Bay Chill at Des Moines Menace

Cownie Soccer Park in Des Moines was the site of the state tournaments, with the boys champions crowned on June 10 and girls champs crowned on June 14.
 
ABOUT THE MENACE: The Des Moines Menace provides the highest level of soccer in Iowa. Entering its 21st season, the Menace men’s side competes in the 64-team United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League (PDL). The Menace’s women’s team played in the 2013 Women’s Premier Soccer League playoffs, after debuting as the Women’s League Soccer 2012 champions. The Menace teams play their home matches in a fun, family-friendly environment at Valley Stadium in West Des Moines. The organization promotes a healthy lifestyle through its popular youth programs, including the Menace Academy (select soccer for ages 9-19), camps, clinics, Junior Menace and tournaments.
