The FIFA World Cup, the pinnacle of soccer tournaments, is played every four years. The World Cup comprises the top 32 teams from six different regions.
The teams play in a round-robin format during the group stage, with the top two teams from each of the eight groups advancing to the knockout stages. Once the 16 teams are decided, the teams play single-elimination games, whittling down the field until one team stands as the victor of the FIFA World Cup final.
