WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – Wednesday, May 22, 2013 – The Des Moines Menace is headed to the third round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, and fans are invited to come along for the ride.
On Tuesday, May 28, the Menace faces Sporting KC in Kansas City, Kan. For the first time in the franchise’s 20 seasons, the Menace takes center stage in a Major League Soccer venue – the $200 million, state-of-the-art Sporting Park.
OPTION 1: Fans are invited to join us for an Open Cup Bus Trip presented by Trans Iowa Charters. For $40, you receive a game ticket, roundtrip travel and a tour of the stadium. Space is limited, so please RSVP by Thursday, May 23 at 5 p.m., by emailing Abby Johnson at abs@MenaceSoccer.com. See the itinerary below. OPTION 2: If you are attending the game but not travelling in the bus, please get your discounted tickets by calling Darin Canova at (913) 387-3443 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Tickets in the Des Moines supporters’ section are available for $20 (regularly $38).

OPEN CUP BUS TRIP presented by Trans Iowa Charters

Where: We will depart from the upper (west) parking lot at Valley Stadium (4440 Mills Civic Parkway in West Des Moines), where we can park cars.
Cost: $40 per person: includes game ticket, ground transportation and stadium tour. All participants must pay upon boarding the bus. Cash or check only, please. There is a $20 no-show fee.

TENTATIVE ITINERARY: Tuesday, May 28
12:30 p.m.: Board the bus in the upper lot at Valley Stadium, wearing your Menace red.
1 p.m.: Bus departs from Valley Stadium’s upper parking lot.
4:15 p.m.: Bus arrives at Sporting Park.
4:30 p.m.: Tour the stadium.
5:30 p.m.: Dinner on your own, inside the stadium or at one of the many restaurants that are a short walk from the stadium.
7:30 p.m.: Game Time! Des Moines Menace vs. Sporting KC in the third round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
9:30 p.m.: Board the bus.
10 p.m..: Bus departs.
1 a.m. Wednesday: Arrive at Valley Stadium’s upper parking lot.
ABOUT THE MENACE: The Des Moines Menace provides the highest level of soccer in Iowa.
